I checked in to my hotel in Lexington, KY last night I was pretty peeved because my TV didn't have NFL Network! Thank goodness a friend told me I could check out the game streaming live at NFL.com. So I turned on the computer to see my team, the Bears, losing by a margin of 4 points in the fourth quarter. In my mind I thought, that's manageable... we can score, and win the game. WRONG! Interception at the 12 yard line...We can't, we can't complete a pass in the red zone to save our lives. Jay Cutler is forcing the ball into windows that obviously are not open. And there are lots of reasons why, the Offensive line is anemic, Jay's receiving core consists of Devin Hester, a converted cornerback turned #1 receiver, Johnny Knox, a rookie, and Earl Bennett a second year receiver. The Bears never prepared with more experience in their receiving core and with every game the weaknesses are more evident.
BUT this doesn't let Jay off the hook. 5 Interceptions... Not going to cut it in Chicago. He can ask another guy with a three letter name how it feels to be the black sheep of Chicago Football. The streets get lonely, the commentary gets louder, the boos follow you to your car, and the expletives even make it to church, lol. So what do you guys think? Did the Bears crown Jay Cutler? or Was he a sound investment?

Under Shanahan, Cutler was a Pro-Bowler.
ReplyDeleteUnder Lovie, Cutler is Rex Grossman.
Let's get rid of Lovie.
"WE LET EM OFF THE HOOK!"
ReplyDeleteJay Cutler is the best thing to happen to the Bears in a while, his supporting cast is dreadful, mainly the O-Line. The receivers need time and Hester is not a #1, Knox and Bennett will be good receivers when the Bears get a Number One receiver in the offseason. And as far as Cutler, its hard to make good decisions when you are between a rock and a hard place...
ReplyDeleteYea, Lovie is the least involved sideline coach ever. If you ever watch him during the game you rarely see him say a thing. I also think Ron Turner is fouling up with the crazy play calling. Throwing the ball on every down is not a great strategy when you QB already has 4 TDs...
ReplyDeleteWe will see if the Bears can get Jay in a better position, but that seems like it will be difficult since our 2 first round draft picks are gone. WOMP WOMP
